Gerard Depardieu has caused a controversy in his native France. The actor, who has come under fire for buying a home in Belgium to avoid an increase in French taxes, said that he was leaving because "success" was now being punished in France. In a letter to a French newspaper, Depardieu wrote that he would hand over his passport and social security card. France is currently trying to impose a 75-percent supertax on income over 1 million euros.
Amy Winehouse's death is being re-investigated by London officials. Authorities say the coroner, who oversaw the singer's autopsy after she died in July 2011, did not have the proper prerequisites when she concluded the singer died from accidental alcohol poisoning. Winehouse's family says they are not behind the push for a new investigation.
