Red Cross Volunteers buried a suspected ebola victim in Mbandaka city, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), on May 17. The UN said, that same day, that 45 Ebola virus cases had been reported in DRC, including 25 deaths.
The AP reported on May 19 that three new cases of Ebola were confirmed in Mbandaka city, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 17.
Authorities confirmed 11 new cases of Ebola in the town of Bikoro, Reuters reported on May 18.
The DRC Ministry of Health will begin vaccinating high-risk populations in “as soon as possible”, the UN said. Credit: WHO via Storyful
